All Dressed Up and No Place To Go

This week, I heard back from the 2 front runners in the Great Job Search. They were both rejections, you might have guessed.

I went out with my mother today. I did some more unnecessary shopping. I've spent $100 in two days on clothing, but I've gotten a lot of bang for my buck: a pair of cords, a pair of dress pants, 2 dress shirts, 2 camisoles, a jacket type shirt thing, and a blazer that was originally $100, that I got for $12. The blazer it too big, so I'll have to get it tailored, but c'mon, it was twelve bucks!!!

So, I'm stylin' now for any upcomming interviews. Unfortunately, there aren't any interviews on the horizon. My sister sent me an interesting job, in Ottawa, for the United Nations. Ha. Probably not likely, but I'll apply anyway. MW is looking for jobs all over the world, so I figure I better, too. I don't like being so unsure of where we will both be in a few months, but I guess that's just the way things will have to be for the next little while.

A ran into the mother of my best friend in elementary school when I was out this afternoon. My mother and her were comparing children (my friends brother was the same age as my sister). Her daughter (my ex-best-friend) is engaged. That sort of surprises me, as I always thought she was a closet lesbian. It struck me, though, that there was this undercurrent of competition when they were talking about their children. As a witness to the conversation, I can conclude there was no real winner. I'm at home, but with a boyfriend, yet her oldest son is still living at home, with no job. Then again, who cares?

I hate to, once again, explain to my mother, over coffee, that I did not leave my dream job so I could work in a call center or (my mother's favorite suggestion) go to community college and take a 'business course'. I know she's afraid that I'll spend the rest of my years living at home, but does she really think I want to do that?

In other, better, news, I've been having some good sex lately.... except for the time a few days ago where I fell off the side of my bed, naked, into my bedside drawer, where it came crashing down on me, spilling makeup, toilettries, and other mish-mash all over my naked self. It was a classy, sexy move.
